went down to scarborough after work and just stood in the water till my legs stopped feeling like they were still carrying the nail bag, sand shifting under my feet and cold up past my knees, mint after being in boots all day. i wasnt keen for a proper swim so stayed where i could stand and watched a bloke lose the same thong twice. my shoulders still felt worked but not jammed up round my ears anymore, then getting dressed i found sand everywhere including inside the clean socks id been so proud of remembering. got home absolutely starving and ate before showering, mum reckons the kitchen chair is now part of the beach

The fan stopped just as I was falling asleep, and suddenly I could feel every place my nightdress was touching me. I turned the pillow over, moved one leg outside the sheet, then turned it back again. My husband was asleep through all this, which is a talent I do not possess. When the rechargeable fan was brought close enough, the air on my neck felt wonderful even though it was not cold. I lay still to keep that one comfortable position. This morning my eyes felt heavy on the bus and I kept yawning behind my hand. The voice was ready for customers before the rest of me was ready for anything.

My granddaughter in Abuja apologised again for not visiting, and I surprised myself by feeling irritated before I felt affectionate. I do not want her to spend the whole call asking forgiveness for having a life. Yet I do want to see her, and perhaps my questions make the apology begin. I told her I missed her company, not her explanations, then asked what she had eaten. We spoke more easily after that. When the call ended I felt the missing plainly, a small sorrow with a particular face. I sat with it until somebody brought a child to show me a loose tooth. I was still missing her while admiring the tooth. There was room for both.

trying to pick one night everyone can sit down for dinner when he's home, sounds simple until the cafe roster changes and the boy remembers something he should've told me three days ago. i've written it out twice and keep forgetting that his week off doesn't mean the rest of us are off. he suggested takeaway whenever we're all there, which would be lovely if whenever was a time on the clock. now i'm asking each kid separately because the family chat is all thumbs-up and no actual answers. don't need a big occasion, just don't want four different dinners and me washing the same bench four times.

নাতি আজ আমাকে পুরোনো বেকারির মাস্টার বলে ডাকল। কোথায় শুনেছে জানি না, হয়তো তার বাবার কাছে। শুনে ভালো লাগল, তারপর বললাম এখন তো আর কাজে যাই না। সে বলল তাতে কী, তুমি তো বানাতে জানো। এমন সহজে কথাটা বলল যে আমার আর উত্তর রইল না। দুপুরে বড় ছেলেকে ঘটনাটা বলতে গিয়ে দেখলাম আমি বেশ হাসছি। ওরাও হাসল। বহু বছর মজুরি নিয়ে বাড়ি ফিরেছি, কাজের গল্প খুব করিনি, এখন ছোট ছেলেটা সেই কাজের নাম ধরে ডাকে। তার কাছে আমি শুধু বারান্দার চেয়ারে বসে থাকা মানুষ নই, এইটুকু ভালো।

I was explaining a pump check to a newer member of the watch and used a diagram from memory. He asked about a connection I had not drawn. The explanation was not wrong, but the missing part made the route hard to follow for someone seeing it the first time. I redrew it with the actual equipment in front of us. It took longer and worked better. I have kept the second drawing for the next session. There is no need to add everything I know about the system. I need to show the parts he will identify and what he must report if the check differs from normal. I will ask him to explain it back during the next drill.

Ada satu kaset tanpa label yang isinya bukan siaran bagus, cuma orang tes mikrofon lalu ngobrol sambil nunggu penyiar. Gue hampir masukin kotak kosong sebelum kedengaran nama warung dekat studio lama. Langsung ingat tempatnya, termasuk meja goyang yang selalu dikasih lipatan kardus. Lucu, arsip resmi acara itu sudah punya tanggal dan judul, tapi suara orang pesan makan ini nggak punya keterangan apa-apa dan justru bikin gue muter ulang. Sekarang gue tulis seadanya di sampul. Belum tentu perlu masuk podcast. Ada juga barang yang disimpan karena gue pengin dengar lagi, nggak semuanya harus berguna buat tujuh ratus orang.

Estoy pensando cómo juntar a todos en la casa del pueblo sin que parezca una orden mía, porque si digo una fecha enseguida empieza uno con el trabajo y otro con los niños y acabamos hablando de otro año. Antes bastaba con preparar comida para más gente y ya aparecerían, ahora hay que saber horarios como si fuéramos una empresa de autobuses. Mi nieta dice que abra un grupo y pregunte, pero en esos grupos hablan cinco a la vez y al final no sé quién ha dicho que sí. Voy a pedir dos domingos posibles, solamente dos, y que me conteste uno por familia. Aunque luego venga menos gente de la que yo quería, la mesa se puede poner igual.

The heat-pump course has an online section I keep putting off, even though I've told the apprentice twice that you can't keep doing things the way you learned them eighteen years ago. I understand the equipment better than the little menus on the training site, and I get impatient before I've actually read the instructions. Tonight I wrote the login information on the same pad I use for parts orders. Not much of a plan, but it means I won't spend tomorrow's first ten minutes looking for it again. I'm not rethinking the whole trade. I'd just like to stop losing an argument with a password box.

Estou ajudando minha irmã a preparar uma apresentação da escola em português e ela corrige minhas frases enquanto eu tento corrigir a ordem dos slides. É engraçado, eu explico preço e desconto para cliente o dia todo sem parar, mas quando preciso escrever uma frase simples começo a trocar palavras que eu usaria tranquilo falando. Ela diz deixa assim que dá pra entender. Eu penso se dá mesmo ou se ela só quer acabar logo. No fim li tudo em voz alta, parecia mais meu jeito, e ela disse que apresentação é dela kkkk. Agora estou tentando ajudar sem transformar o trabalho da menina numa fala minha.
