Je me suis réveillé de la sieste avec la marque de l'oreiller sur la joue et aucune idée de l'heure. Le rideau laissait passer un trait de lumière, j'entendais quelqu'un parler au garage, tout faisait journée normale sauf ma tête encore en pleine nuit. J'ai attendu assis au bord du lit avant de me lever. Après un verre d'eau et un bout de pain, ça revenait, mais lentement. Ma copine m'avait laissé un message et j'ai dû l'écouter deux fois parce que la première fois les mots passaient sans s'accrocher. Je connais ce réveil-là, ça m'empêche pas de le trouver pénible. Maurice sur le frigo avait l'air plus dynamique que moi.

Je cherche comment raconter une histoire aux enfants du caté sans leur poser immédiatement les questions dont j'attends les réponses. L'un d'eux m'a demandé pourquoi un personnage avait peur, et j'avais déjà préparé la suite au lieu d'écouter son idée. À la maison j'ai relu le passage ; sa question n'était pas compliquée, mais elle ne figurait pas sur ma feuille. Je voudrais leur laisser davantage de place, tout en sachant qu'au bout de cinq minutes certains parleront du chien de leur grand-mère. Il faut bien commencer quelque part. J'ai barré deux questions, pas toute la feuille, je me connais.

柜子上两个料理机，一个能打豆浆，一个说是多功能，买的时候我记得清清楚楚，今天倒想不起到底差在哪里了。儿子肯定又要说我乱买，我先把说明书拿出来看，字小得跟蚂蚁爬一样，戴眼镜也费事。其实早饭我都在外头吃，在屋里打豆浆能用几回撒。但退掉哪个我又拿不定，一个好洗，一个颜色好看。孙女说拍照片给她，她帮我看，我拍了机器，忘了拍后头那个牌子，她说那才是要紧的。我还以为她想帮我挑个好看的。现在两个都摆出来，更占地方了，先留着盒子，莫让儿子来时给我当废纸卖掉。

Les petits ont mis musique dans la cour et j'ai montré comment on danse vraiment, pas leur affaire où les pieds partent chacun de son côté. J'ai bien commencé deh, les épaules bougeaient et tout le monde criait kabakourou, après deux chansons mes genoux ont dit on a compris merci. Je me suis assise avec la poitrine qui allait vite et la sueur dans le cou, j'avais chaud mais j'étais bien. Le mari riait doucement depuis son banc, celui-là garde toujours sa force pour regarder les autres. J'ai demandé de l'eau et j'ai continué seulement avec les bras. Ma petite-fille a fait pareil à côté de moi, elle aussi fatiguée mais elle ne veut pas avouer.

One of the grandchildren called outside the usual time to ask how I made the potatoes for Thanksgiving. I was pleased she remembered them. I gave her the instructions and she read them back, which saved us both a second call. Then she stayed on the line while she got the pan out and told me about her week. I had been about to balance the checkbook. It remained unbalanced for another half hour without incident. She sent a picture of the finished dish later. The potatoes were a little crowded, but they looked good. I told her so. My husband wanted to know why we were not having potatoes that evening.

Кызым сегодня сама рассказала мне что делала днём. Раньше жена больше рассказывала а она только поправляла если что не так. Теперь села рядом и долго объясняла про девочку на площадке, кто чей самокат взял и как они потом поменялись. Я не всё понял потому что имена перепутал. Она засмеялась и начала снова. Хорошо было сидеть и видеть как она руками показывает, по телефону раньше такое пропадало за экраном. Уже надо было собираться на смену но я ещё слушал. Когда уходил она сказала завтра продолжу. Сказал хорошо, я запомнил где остановилась. Сейчас стараюсь не забыть имя той девочки.

Eins der Kinder aus der Schach-AG hat heute verloren und gefragt, ob ich jetzt enttäuscht wäre. Das hat mich mehr getroffen als die Partie, in der tatsächlich einiges schiefging. Ich dachte immer, ich mache deutlich genug, dass es nicht nur ums Gewinnen geht, aber vielleicht merkt man mir meine Freude über die guten Ergebnisse zu stark an. Ich habe gesagt, dass ich mich freue, wenn es wiederkommt, auch nach einer Niederlage. Das Kind wollte dann lieber mit den anderen raus, verständlicherweise ohne pädagogischen Abschlussvortrag. Ich war traurig über die Frage und zugleich froh, dass sie überhaupt gestellt wurde. Nächste Woche will ich nicht gleich als Erstes wissen, wer gewonnen hat.

A junior asked me to look at a bug report before he sent it because, apparently, I explain things clearly. I nearly told him to read the examples first. Thankfully I asked what was confusing him instead. We spent ten minutes working through it and he said thanks without sounding as though he wanted anything else. I was pleased. More pleased than I was with the title change, if I'm honest. Then I worried I'd taken over his report rather than helped him write it. I checked the final version later. He'd kept his own wording in several places. Slightly untidy, entirely understandable. I left it alone.
