my brother called while i was out stacking wood and wanted to see the pile, not just hear that it was fine, so i walked him round with the phone like a real estate guy lol. he said dad would check that end again and i said dad already had. felt good talking rubbish with him without everyone else on the call asking serious questions. i nearly asked when he was coming home but mom already asks enough, i just showed him the sled that still doesnt run and he laughed at me for keeping it. after we hung up i went back to stacking slower. could have used another ten minutes of that call.

اليوم لما خلصت آخر تنزيل ونزلت من الكابينة حسيت ظهري مش راضي يفرد، مش وجع جديد بس كأني ضليت قاعد حتى وأنا واقف. صاحب البقالة جاب القهوة وحط كرسي، قلتله خلينا واقفين شوي، استغرب مني وأنا اللي دايماً أول واحد بقعد. مشيت قدام المحل لحد ما خفت الشدة، وبعدين رجعت على المستودع. بالبيت البنت بدها أحملها على الدرج، قلتلها امشي معي هالمرة وخلي ظهري يرتاح، فمسكت إيدي وصارت تطلع درجة وتناديني كأني أنا الصغير. ضحكتني، والله. أكلت العشا على مهلي بدل ما أخلص وأقوم دغري، وحطيت المخدة ورا ظهري قدامهم عادي. اللي بده يضحك على المخدة ييجي يقعد مكاني نهار كامل وبعدين نحكي.

j'ai supprimé trois fois la même bulle dans mon dessin parce que le personnage explique ce qu'on voit déjà sur son visage, sauf que si je l'enlève j'ai peur que personne comprenne. en vrai je fais pareil quand je raconte ma vie, je rajoute toute une justification avant qu'on puisse poser la question. sauf que là c'est une fille inventée qui rate son bus, elle n'a pas besoin de défendre une année entière mdr. j'ai laissé la case sans texte et envoyé aux copines sans demander leur avis. maintenant je surveille quand même les réponses, donc mon expérience de grande liberté artistique se passe merveilleusement bien.

صحابي عيطولي باسم بنت الجيران كي طلعت للفورغون وأنا كنت قاعد ورا، حبيت نهبط واحد واحد ونوريهم الضحك. هي دارت شوية وابتسمت ومن تما ما بقيتش عارف نغضب ولا نفرح، قعدت نشوف من الشباك كأني ما سمعت والو. طول الطريق حاسبهم راهم يهدروا عليا حتى كي سكتوا، وكي هبطنا صاحبي قاللي علاش وليت أحمر قلتله سخانة، نورمال. راني أنا اللي قلتلهم عليها أصلا، بصح هذا ما يعنيش يديرو إعلان قدام الناس كامل. دابا يقولي نروحوا للملعب مع بعض، نروح بصح مازال ما سمحتلوش، على الأقل حتى يمدلي باس مليح.

Ibu menanyakan kabar keluarga mantan saya setelah bertemu salah satu kerabatnya. Saya tahu beliau tidak bermaksud mengajak kembali, tetapi mendengar nama mereka disebut dengan santai membuat saya kesal. Saya menjawab singkat lalu sibuk merapikan piring, dan Ibu ikut diam. Setelah itu saya merasa bersalah, tetapi juga tidak ingin meminta maaf kalau akhirnya pembicaraan dibuka lagi. Hubungan itu memang sudah selesai, hanya saya tidak suka kalau orang mengira semua pertanyaan tentangnya sudah menjadi percakapan biasa. Adik masuk kamar membawa camilan dan tidak bertanya apa-apa. Saya lega sekali ada orang yang bisa menemani tanpa perlu mengetahui seluruh penjelasannya malam ini.

My shirt was stuck to my back inside ten minutes and I was taking those enormous breaths you try to disguise by giving tactical advice. He didn't need the advice. He needed me to stand in goal, which was considerably more my speed. Back upstairs I sat on the edge of the bath with my shoes off while he told his mum he'd scored eleven. My legs felt heavy all evening. Not the usual dead feeling after the desk, actual used legs, apparently still fitted.

Mireille m'a envoyé une photo de notre ancien atelier, retrouvée en rangeant. On est trois devant la presse, aucune ne regarde l'objectif, et j'ai cette blouse que je trouvais déjà affreuse à l'époque. J'ai ri, puis ça m'a serré un peu. Pas envie de retourner travailler, certainement pas, mais envie de retrouver ces deux-là un matin, avec nos mauvaises humeurs et le café trop fort. J'ai appelé tout de suite au lieu de répondre à la photo. On a parlé une demi-heure de tout sauf de l'atelier. Ça m'a fait du bien quand même. Je vais imprimer la photo, tant pis pour la blouse. On a toutes l'air occupées, pas vieilles, pas jeunes, juste à notre place.

O menino do cursinho guardou um lugar pra mim e falou como se não fosse nada, só afastou a mochila e continuou conversando. Eu fiquei besta com uma cadeira vazia, oxente. Passei o começo da aula tentando agir normal e perdi justamente a explicação que precisava ouvir. Depois fiquei com raiva de mim por isso, mas uma raiva pequena, misturada com vontade de contar pras primas cada palavra de uma conversa que nem teve tantas palavras. Não quero transformar tudo em sinal de namoro e também não quero fingir que não ligo. Cheguei em casa sorrindo, minha mãe perguntou o que era e eu disse que a aula tinha sido boa. Foi, a parte da cadeira foi excelente.

Trying to change the classroom puppet's usual joke because one of the kids told me exactly what he was going to say before I'd got my hand inside. Thirty-six years of an act, finally exposed by a seven-year-old with very good timing. I could invent a new punchline, but I'm more interested in letting them decide what the puppet gets wrong and having him try to explain himself. They love catching him out. Might be a better conversation than me supplying the question and both answers, which is easier than I'd like to admit. Wrote down three prompts and already want to perform all three at once. He can survive not getting the last word for a morning.

Papa m'a demandé la date de ma prochaine course avant que je lui parle du transport. Il voulait éviter de promettre son taxi à quelqu'un d'autre ce matin-là. Ça m'a fait plaisir bezzaf, surtout qu'il a demandé ça en mangeant comme s'il parlait juste d'une course ordinaire en ville. Je lui ai montré le parcours sur mon téléphone et il a cherché un endroit où m'attendre sans gêner. Maman disait qu'on allait encore parler kilomètres tout le repas. Oui, un peu. Je me suis sentie soutenue sans avoir besoin de défendre quoi que ce soit. Après il est reparti travailler et je lui ai rempli sa bouteille d'eau avant qu'il descende.
