L'agence nous demande de renseigner davantage de cases sur la tablette après les visites. Je comprends qu'il faut garder une trace, mais je cherche encore comment noter ce qui compte sans passer la moitié de ma pause à corriger un mot. Une personne a peu mangé, d'accord, il y a une case ; elle mange mieux si l'on reste assis cinq minutes avec elle, cela rentre où ? Je ne veux pas rédiger un roman sur chaque maison non plus. J'ai demandé à une collègue de me montrer sa façon de faire au lieu de dire encore que ces appareils ne sont pas pour moi. Le travail n'a pas changé tout entier, c'est surtout l'endroit où il faut désormais raconter ce qu'on a fait.

闹钟三点四十分响的时候，我已经醒了，却在床边坐了好一会儿才站起来。不是不想开档，是两条腿还没跟上脑子，走去冲凉时膝盖很紧。到了摊位，备料、开火，一忙又觉得还可以，所以别人问累不累，我通常说还好。今天收档后搬东西，才知道早上那个还好不能算一整天。我把最后一箱交给来帮忙的人，自己清桌，心里还觉得不好意思，好像我少做一点，大家就会发现我撑不住。其实人家根本没说什么。晚上女儿要我蹲着看她搭的玩具屋，我索性坐地上，她还以为我要陪她玩很久。坐下来是舒服，起来就没那么漂亮了，扶着沙发慢慢来。

阿嬤今天把我帶回來的飲料藏在冰箱後面，怕弟弟喝掉，還偷偷叫我過去看，像做什麼地下交易。那杯本來就要給她喝的，我講很大聲她還以為我在生弟弟的氣，開始幫他解釋。我笑到不行，又有點酸酸的，回家常常只顧著洗澡滑手機，阿嬤大概一直在等我出房間，好交代飲料放哪。後來陪她坐了一下，她問七號車最近乖不乖，我說還可以，比妳孫子乖。弟弟剛好經過罵我一聲，阿嬤這句倒是聽得很清楚，直接叫他去拿杯子。飲料倒出來剩好多冰，三個人還在那邊分。

Je suis rentré à pied après le démontage, encore avec la sensation du câble dans les paumes. En ouvrant la porte j'ai vu mes mains toutes sèches, les plis gris malgré le lavage au théâtre. La petite dormait déjà, alors je suis resté dans la cuisine à les enduire de crème, lentement, sans outil à reprendre tout de suite. J'avais les avant-bras fatigués mais c'était surtout la nuque qui refusait de se détendre. Ma compagne m'a parlé depuis le couloir et je me suis tourné d'un bloc. On a ri de ma souplesse de projecteur rouillé. J'ai fait les mouvements que je remets toujours à après, puis je me suis couché sans repasser le spectacle sur mon téléphone.

Good grip on the darts tonight. No slipping between the fingers, no need to keep wiping my hand on the trousers. After a day walking the beat, I like standing in one chosen place and making one small movement properly. The rest of me goes quiet for a while. Missed the double anyway, so there is a limit to what a comfortable body can achieve. By the last game I could feel my feet in the boots again, the left heel particularly. Stayed for the result, changed shoes when I got home. The soft pair by the door are not handsome. They are considerably more useful than the advice people offer about putting my feet up.

The new bowls fixture list has two matches on the same date, which initially struck me as a straightforward error. I checked last year's list and began composing a note to the secretary before noticing that one was for a team I do not captain. Perfectly possible to hold two matches, therefore, provided the people are different. I deleted the opening paragraph. The layout remains unhelpful, however; team names ought to be more prominent than the venue. I shall suggest that instead. My wife considers the matter resolved now that I understand it. That rather overlooks the next person who may read it incorrectly.

Le potager occupe une surface trop grande pour ce que j'en fais. J'ai mesuré la moitié et planté deux piquets. Le reste sera tondu. Je connais les sols, les besoins des plantes, les quantités à apporter. Ce n'est pas l'information qui manque. C'est le retour régulier entre deux travaux plus urgents. Au cimetière, la visite suivante est toujours inscrite quelque part. Ici je passe devant et décide que cela peut attendre. En réduisant la surface, j'aurai moins à abandonner. Le voisin propose des plants. Lui ai demandé combien, avant de dire oui cette fois. Il en apporte quatre. C'est assez. Il veut aussi me donner des courgettes.

Im Gänsehäufel bin ich mit den Kindern so lang durchs flache Wasser gegangen, dass meine Beine beim Raussteigen kurz richtig schwer waren. Drinnen merkt man das gar nicht, da hebst du die Kleine hoch und gehst weiter, draußen pickt dann die nasse Badehose an dir und jeder Schritt geht ein bissl langsamer. Ich hab mich auf das Handtuch gesetzt und die Füße in der Sonne trocknen lassen, während die zwei schon wieder Hunger hatten. Das war eine angenehme Müdigkeit, nicht dieses wattige Gefühl nach einer Nachtschicht. Nur der Sand zwischen den Zehen war lästig. Kaum hatte ich ihn weg, musste ich wieder aufstehen und die Jausenbox holen.

An old catering customer called to ask if I would make lunch for a small event. She said nobody had matched my chicken since, which was a very effective opening line. I felt pleased before I felt anything else, and for a few minutes we were talking about food as if the closed business had simply been on leave. Then she asked what I would charge. I told her I no longer take orders and gave her another number. She was perfectly kind about it. Afterward I felt rather flat, not because I regretted saying no, but because I had enjoyed being remembered for something good from those years. Hayi, I can miss the cooking without wanting the invoices back.

بعد ما غسلت المعدات طلعت ع الغرفة وأنا مفكر حالي بدي أنام فوراً، بس الملح ناشف عند رقبتي والتيشيرت بلزق بظهري، فما عرفت أقعد مرتاح. أخذت دوش ووقفت شوي تحت المي من غير ما أعمل إشي، بس أحس إنها بتنزل عن كتافي. أول ما لبست قميص نظيف جعت فجأة، كأني طول النهار ناسي موضوع الأكل. زميلي كان مسخن رز، قعدنا ناكل وأنا حافي ورجلي ع البلاط البارد. ما حكيت كثير، مش زعلان ولا إشي، بس حلو أحياناً أخلص اليوم من غير ما أشرح لحدا وين يقعد وشو يحمل. بعد الأكل النعس راح شوي، وصرت أسمع صوت البحر من الشباك وأنا قاعد مكاني.
