গন্ধবলে-Mind
প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য বাংলায় নোট লিখতে বসে দেখি, গন্ধের কথা মুখে যত সহজে বলি, কাগজে ততই অস্পষ্ট। লিখেছি ফলের গন্ধ একটু বদলাবে। কতটা বদলাবে, কীসের মতো, আর কখন সেটা স্বাভাবিক নয়? নতুন ছেলেটা এই প্রশ্নগুলো করলে আমি নমুনার কাছে নিয়ে যাই, বই তো কাউকে নিয়ে যেতে পারবে না। তাই ভাবছি প্রতিটি বর্ণনার পাশে কোন মাপ আর কোন রেকর্ড দেখতে হবে সেটাও রাখি। শুধু আমার নাকের অভিজ্ঞতা দিয়ে কাউকে নিশ্চিত হতে শেখানো ঠিক হবে না। দুটো পাতা লিখে আবার প্রথম পাতায় ফিরেছি। স্ত্রী বলল আজ নতুন পরীক্ষা নেই? বললাম আছে, এইবার দেখা হচ্ছে নিজের জানা জিনিস অন্যকে বোঝাতে পারি কি না।

I caught myself saying I completely understand to my sister when I absolutely did not understand what she was upset about. Call-center autopilot followed me into our kitchen, embarrassing. At work I can sound calm while my brain is searching for the actual problem, but at home she heard the ready-made answer immediately and said ate, listen first. Since then I've been noticing which phrases are mine and which ones I borrow for eight hours every night. It's not even only the accent. I start arranging a response before the other person finishes. My sister wasn't asking me to fix anything, she wanted to complain about a friend, which should honestly be my easiest subject.

El Flaco se tomó un día y me mandaron con otro técnico, buen tipo, nada que decir. Igual extrañé al desgraciado. Cada vez que pasaba algo pensaba el comentario que habría hecho él, y en el mate de la mañana hubo un silencio que no era nuestro silencio de siempre. Me dio hasta vergüenza mandarle un mensaje por semejante pavada, así que le saqué foto a una instalación bastante fea y le puse que su reemplazo lo había mejorado. Contestó una barbaridad, todo en orden. Nueve años laburando juntos y hablamos de cualquier cosa menos de lo importante que se vuelve tener al otro al lado. Tampoco se lo voy a explicar un martes por WhatsApp.

A younger agent got the listing I thought was practically mine and posted a photo before I had even heard from the seller. I congratulated her in the group because I am a PROFESSIONAL, then spent ten minutes finding faults with the photo. The kitchen was beautifully lit, which did not improve my mood. I know she works hard. I also know what I put into that appointment, and I wanted the seller to tell me directly instead of letting me discover it between a restaurant recommendation and somebody's dog. Called my assistant and complained about the manners, not the losing. She knows the difference. By dinner I was mostly over it, but I have not looked at the post again.

La petite a Lyon m'a montre son cahier par video. Pas les notes, un dessin qu'elle avait fait dans la marge, elle rigolait parce que je tournais le telephone pour le voir droit. J'ai voulu demander pourquoi elle dessinait pendant les cours puis je me suis retenu, elle allait refermer le cahier et dire rien papa laisse tomber. Elle a explique les personnages longtemps. Je connaissais aucun de leurs noms mais je voyais bien qu'elle etait contente de raconter. Apres l'appel j'ai ete de bonne humeur jusqu'a ce que le cousin demande pourquoi. Il faut toujours commenter avec lui. J'ai dit que la viande livree etait bonne. C'etait vrai aussi.

Considering the Hebrides trip again. I had reduced the options to two places by journey time and cost, then noticed that neither was near the walk my wife has mentioned for several years. A meticulously prepared answer to the wrong question. Booking it as a surprise would spare me a discussion, which is not quite the generous motive I had assigned myself. I shall show her the maps before settling anything. There is still a difference of almost a hundred pounds between the available dates, and I see no virtue in ignoring it. But the purpose is a holiday she wishes to take, not a demonstration that I can obtain the cheapest room.

ولدي اللي فالرباط عيط وقال ليا ما يقدرش يجي هاد المرة حيث عندو القراية. قلت ليه الله يعاونك آولدي، وما كذبتش، فرحانة به يقرا ويكمل اللي حنا ما كملناش. ولكن ملي سديت الهاتف بقات فيا، كنت شريت ليه الحاجة اللي كيبغي ياكل وبقيت كنشوفها فالكوزينة. راجلي قال ناكلوها حنا، وأنا عصبت عليه بلا سبب، راه ما قال حتى حاجة خايبة. غير كنت باغية يقول ليا حتى هو توحشو، ماشي يحل ليا مشكل الماكلة. من بعد ضحكت على راسي وقلت ليه نخليو شوية فالمجمد. الدار هادئة بزاف منين مشى، كنت كنطلب الراحة ملي كانوا كاملين صغار، ودابا بعض الأيام الهدوء كيكون ثقيل، الحمد لله على كل حال.

Je racontais une traversée du Frioul à mon fils et il m'a arrêté en disant que la dernière fois il y avait trente passagers, pas soixante. Oh fan, il tient les comptes de mes histoires maintenant ! Je suis sûr du vent et du monsieur qui avait gardé son chapeau à la main tout le trajet, le nombre je sais plus. J'ai mélangé deux journées peut-être, des mauvaises traversées j'en ai assez pour en faire trois versions. Mon fils riait mais je voulais retrouver la bonne, alors j'ai appelé un ancien collègue. Lui se rappelait du chapeau et pas du monsieur. Nous voilà bien avancés, demain au bar je vais raconter notre coup de téléphone, au moins celui-là est frais.

Lost at chess because I was watching one piece I wanted to take and missed what the old head was setting up across the board. He let me explain my whole plan after the game then pointed to the rook. Yeah. That jawn had been sitting there the whole time. On the corner I can watch kids and turning cars together because I know what I'm looking for. Here I see a good move and start admiring it before I've checked the rest. Tried setting the position up again at home. Mom asked if I was playing myself. Told her I was investigating a crime. She said at least I already knew who did it. Hard crowd in this house.

休みなのにいつもの時間に目が覚めて、もう一度寝ようとしてもお腹だけ起きていた。先にご飯にして、残っていたスープを温めて座ったら、足の裏がまだ冷たいことに気づいた。店ではこの時間もう動いているから、じっと座って朝を待つ感じが変。靴下を履いてから食べ直すと、温かいものがお腹に入るのがよくわかった。洗い物は置いたまま布団に戻って、今度はすぐ眠れた。起きたら枕の跡が頬にくっきりついていて、ちょっと得したような、休みを寝て使ってしまったような。手首は今日は静か。
