録音に伺った家で、機械を出す前に茶を淹れていただいた。先方は先日の話の続きをするつもりらしく、私がどこまで覚えているかをまず確かめた。音の特徴は記してあったが、肝心の親戚関係を取り違えており、二人でしばらく笑った。帰り際、録音がなくても来てよいと言われた。資料収集者としてではなく、話の続きを聞く者として待たれているというのは、少々気恥ずかしい。嬉しかった、と書けば済むところをまた長くしている。いただいた芋を台所に置いたまま、夕方までその言い方を思い返した。次は機械の電池より先に、菓子を用意しようと思う。

遅番。新人が別の職員には相談しちょるのに、私が近づいたら話をやめた。腹立つというより、あ、私には聞きにくいんかって少しへこんだ。昨日の説明が早すぎたのかもしれん。でも同じことを何回も聞いてくれていいとは言ってあるし、こっちも困る。帰りにその子が明日のことを一つ聞いてくれたから普通に答えたけど、嬉しくて余計な説明まで足しそうになった。唐揚げをおごれば済む話でもないんだろうな。今日は誘わずに帰った。それも何か冷たかったかなと、車でまた考えてしまった。普段ならもう忘れとる時間なのに、こういう半端な感じはしんどい。

cycled with no delivery bag for once and realised i kept leaning forward like something heavy was still on my back haha. after a while my shoulders stopped doing that and the ride felt easier, wind through my shirt but still sweating properly at the lights. left heel was a bit stiff when i first put my foot down so i sat at the park connector bench before heading home. legs wanted to keep moving even when the rest of me was happy to sit. reached the flat and ah ma said wash first dont sit on her chair like that. fair lah, shirt was wet all the way down. shower felt damn good, then i was suddenly hungry enough for everything

One of my regulars brought his wife in just to show her the studio. He's been telling her about us for months, and when he introduced me he said this is where I started looking forward to mornings again. Man, that got me! I was ready to joke about the music and ended up having to clear my throat instead. We talk so much while he's here that I forget he spends most of the rest of his day alone until she gets home. I felt proud and a little protective of him, which he definitely does not need announced in front of his wife. So I showed her around and let him explain his favorite exercise. He explained it better than I would have.

নতুন ছেলেটার bug report প্রথমে বাতিল করতে যাচ্ছিলাম, কারণ আমার ফোনে সমস্যাটা হচ্ছিল না। সে বলল ধাপ একই, কিন্তু তার নেটওয়ার্ক মাঝখানে কেটে গিয়েছিল। এই তথ্য শুরুতে লেখেনি বলে বকলাম, তারপর সংযোগ বন্ধ করে পরীক্ষা করতেই আটকে থাকা লেনদেনটা পেলাম। সমস্যা আসল, রিপোর্ট অসম্পূর্ণ; দুটো আলাদা কথা। বারবার একই পরীক্ষায় একই ফল পাওয়ার মধ্যে নিশ্চিন্ত হয়ে বসেছিলাম, পরিবেশটা বদলাইনি। কাল ওকে দিয়ে ধাপগুলো আবার লেখাব, নিজে শুধু review করব। সবটা আমি লিখে দিলে দ্রুত শেষ হয় ঠিকই, কিন্তু পরেরবার আবার আমাকে লাগবে। ওর প্রশ্নটা ঠিক ছিল, সেটা মিটিংয়েও বলতে হবে।

Mon père a demandé si, lors de leur prochaine venue, ils pouvaient passer voir l'atelier avant de rentrer. J'ai répondu oui trop vite, puis recommencé avec les horaires, le stationnement, tout ce qu'il n'avait pas demandé. J'étais ému et un peu inquiet : j'attends cette visite depuis longtemps, et voilà que je veux lui présenter chaque chose sous son meilleur jour. Il a simplement dit qu'il voulait voir où je passe mes journées. Cela m'a touché davantage que s'il avait demandé une démonstration. Je me connais, je vais quand même ranger les tournevis deux fois et chercher une machine intéressante à lui montrer.

Put on an old cardigan at home and discovered I'd been holding my stomach in all day under a perfectly respectable blouse that was evidently doing none of the work itself. The relief when I unbuttoned it, God help us. Made tea and sat sideways on the sofa with my feet up, the cat immediately assuming I'd prepared the arrangement for him. I could feel the mark of my shoes even after I'd taken them off, but after a while the toes stopped curling as if the shoes were still there. Was meant to put a hem up tonight. The machine can wait until the cat has finished enjoying my evening.

想请个人来学做叻沙，又在那张招聘字句上改来改去。我嘴上说怕对方做不久，其实也怕教到最后，味道跟我做的不一样。可如果每一步都必须是我的手，所谓找人帮忙最后也只是多一个人搬东西，凌晨还是我起。以前读物流，排人手这些我都懂，轮到自己档口就不肯照那个办法想。今天先写了哪些步骤可以教，哪些需要一起看火，发现并不是整碗都不能放手。女儿才六岁，不应该为了她将来可能接手，就一直不找别人。我还没把广告发出去，只是这次没有删掉。先给太太看，她通常一眼就知道我又把什么简单事情讲复杂了。

The radio needs a part I haven't found locally. I can order a modern replacement and have it working soon, or keep looking for one closer to what was there. Functionally, the choice is simple. I want the older part, which makes it less simple because this is not a service job and nobody is waiting for a result. I keep explaining the search as if the radio requires it. It doesn't. I could finish and move to something else. For now I'll check the parts drawers once more and ask at the shop next week. Not taking anything apart that still works just to solve this one.

Au bloc j'ai passé vingt minutes à chercher pourquoi je glissais sur une prise qui avait l'air honnête, avant de comprendre que mes doigts étaient encore gras de crème, protection des mains un peu trop efficace. Après les avoir lavées j'ai tenu, mais les avant-bras étaient déjà pleins, cette dureté sous la peau qui rend ridicule le simple fait de fermer un zip. Dans le tram je gardais les mains ouvertes sur les genoux, content·e de sentir autre chose que la gâchette du pulvérisateur. La fatigue est arrivée d'un coup deux arrêts avant chez moi. J'aurais bien demandé au conducteur de livrer jusqu'au canapé.
