A mate asked about the wedding and I gave her the weather-and-parking answer, as usual. Then she said she was really looking forward to seeing us get married. Caught me a bit off guard. I've spent so much time explaining that we want a small one, no big production, that I forgot people might simply be happy for us. Got home and found him sharpening something in the shed, exactly where expected, and wanted to tell him but couldn't find a way that didn't sound like I was delivering a speech. Said my mate was coming. He said good. We stood there smiling like a pair of idiots for no stated reason.

A friend told us he's moving out of Toronto because his new rent would eat nearly everything extra he earns. I made a joke about visiting for the cheap parking, and we all laughed, but I felt properly sad afterward. He's not going to another planet. Still, there's a difference between deciding to hang out after work and arranging a weekend two months ahead. I'm happy he found somewhere that gives him room to breathe, annoyed that it takes leaving, and slightly embarrassed by how quickly I started talking about housing numbers instead of saying I'd miss him. Sent that part later. He replied that I could help carry his couch, so apparently the friendship has survived my emotional breakthrough.

The boy wants me to teach him dominoes but he only wants the six six because everybody makes noise when it land. Tried showing him how the ends must match and he said why cant we change the rule. Because then it not dominoes, I told him, but now I keep thinking how to explain it without just repeating myself louder. Could start with fewer tiles so he can see what he has. Under the ackee tree the men will turn it into a performance and he wont learn anything except how to shout. We can try at the little table first, no audience, and he can hold the six six till he understands why he waiting.

trying to make a low shelf for the girl's room without buying another sheet of plywood. got enough scraps if the sides are two inches shorter than i first figured. measured her books and most fit, except one with a handle on top that sticks out. she says that one can lie down. fair enough. i keep picturing it as a little cabinet with everything lined up, she's picturing where the stuffed rabbit goes. drew it both ways on a scrap and she picked the one with the most open space. easier to build too. still need to check the spot by her bed before i cut. the drawing isn't the room.

A customer wants smaller quantities of cups twice as often. My first thought was that he was avoiding a larger invoice. I checked his payment history; it does not support that conclusion. He says the boxes block the passage behind the counter, which I have seen myself. The delivery cost is still a problem. I wrote out two options, then noticed that I was calculating how to prove his request unreasonable rather than whether the route could accommodate it. His diner is close to an existing stop. That may make it workable. I need the warehouse schedule before I promise anything. It is possible this is simply a man with too many boxes.

The nurse texted that he'd picked a place for us to eat and checked it would still be open after my shift. Girl. Somebody looked up hours FOR ME. I got so excited I immediately started checking parking and whether we needed a reservation, as if he'd sent me an event brief. He said he'd handled it. I don't quite know what to do with that except be happy and slightly suspicious that I'm making three texts into a whole relationship. Told my roommate and he said try eating dinner before planning the wedding. Rude but fair. I'm already more worried about being late than about whether he'll like the outfit.

There is a piece of blue shirt fabric I keep moving from one possible place in a quilt to another. It belonged to Harold, and every position seems either too prominent or not prominent enough. This is supposed to be an ordinary quilt for the house, not another memorial project. The cloth is sound. He wore shirts, shirts wear out, what remains gets used. I can state all that plainly and still sit here arranging the same scrap for twenty minutes. I put it back in the bag this afternoon and chose a different blue. No decision has been made about the shirt. I have plenty of other pieces and am not obliged to settle everything before tea.

estoy tratando de entender si la de segundo b dibuja corazones en todo o si el del yeso cuenta diferente, porque hoy vi uno en su cuaderno pero era junto a una cancion y eso no es igual. mi cuate dice que le pregunte y ya, bien facil para el que no va a estar enfrente. yo podria decirle algo de la firma pero seguro me sale un chiste todo menso. pense preguntarle si tiene plumon porque una parte ya se esta borrando, aunque justo su corazon no se ha borrado nada. ya tengo mas ideas para esta tonteria que para la tarea y ninguna sirve. mañana capaz nomas le digo hola
