Volví caminando desde una parada antes porque había pasado buena parte del turno sentado y la espalda parecía haberse quedado en la silla. Los primeros pasos fueron tiesos, luego pude alargar un poco y llegué con hambre en vez de con sueño. No era una gran caminata, pero me vino bien mirar comercios y no pantallas. En casa mi señora me pidió bajar una bolsa y casi dije que acababa de llegar, después vi que estaba ligera y bajé. Ahí sí noté las piernas usadas, cosa rara en un día de contraseñas. Me senté para quitarme los zapatos y dejé el teléfono lejos mientras descansaba. Cinco minutos sin que nada solicitara actualización, ni siquiera yo, jaja.

A word I could not place at eleven came to me while I was washing the egg saucepan, when I had stopped asking for it. I dried my hands and wrote it into the crossword before doing anything else. The answer fitted, although I am not convinced I understood the clue correctly. That is more irritating than an empty space. My daughter says an answer is an answer. It is not, if one has arrived at it for the wrong reason. I have left the paper folded to that page and shall look again in the morning. There are things on the radio that receive considerably less thought and considerably more confidence.

Je remplissais une grille de mots fléchés quand la petite est venue proposer une réponse manifestement trop longue. Je lui ai montré le nombre de cases et elle a demandé pourquoi on ne pouvait pas en rajouter. Pour elle le problème venait de la grille, pas du mot. J'y repense parce qu'au bureau je passe mes journées à faire entrer les choses dans des colonnes prévues pour elles, et je trouve cela plutôt rassurant. À la maison aussi, peut-être trop. Je n'ai pas transformé sa question en leçon de vie, elle voulait seulement écrire son mot. Nous l'avons mis à côté, dans la marge. Maintenant ma grille a une réponse exacte et une réponse de huit ans, beaucoup plus grande.

Had the grandbaby laid across my chest while my daughter went to warm a bottle and that little fellow about put ME to sleep, all warm through my shirt with one fist hooked in the collar like I was fixing to leave. I'm used to being up and down all day on the valet ramp so sitting still that long felt strange at first, kept wanting to move my left leg and then worrying I'd wake him. After a while my shoulders dropped and I could feel how heavy my own head was against the couch. Daughter came back asking was I comfortable. Lady I've parked a thousand luxury cars and none of their seats felt this good.

Wife took a photo at a family meal I missed because of nights. Everyone round my brother's visit from Spain, all looking pleased with themselves. I was glad Mum had a good afternoon. Then I noticed they had used the extension table, in our house, and that annoyed me more than a photo of a meal ought to. Nobody had done anything wrong. I'd said go ahead and they had. At work I showed the picture to a lad who asked about the building job and explained how we got that much room out of the back. Left the bit about missing the meal out. Still had the hump when I got home.

Je regardais encore l'escalier chez ma mère en imaginant tout ce qu'il faudrait changer, puis elle m'a demandé pourquoi je ne commençais pas par déplacer la petite lampe qu'elle utilise le soir. J'avais déjà la rénovation entière dans la tête, elle essayait seulement de voir la marche avant d'allumer le couloir. J'ai pris des mesures et on a fait le tour ensemble, lentement, elle me montrait les gestes qu'elle fait vraiment. Sur mes chantiers je pose ces questions aux clients, chez elle je débarque avec la réponse avant d'avoir entendu. J'ai noté trois choses à revoir. Elle a ajouté la fermeture du placard, qui n'a rien à voir avec l'escalier mais qui l'énerve depuis six mois.

Colorado sent a photo of snow on his windshield. Not a holiday, not an answer to something I'd sent. Just the damn windshield. I was so happy I nearly called immediately, then got mad at myself for making a big occasion out of a picture. Wrote back that he needed a better scraper and deleted it. Wrote that it looked cold, which is about as useful as pointing out the car. Sent that anyway. He answered with a laughing face. I have looked at it six times. Told my husband about the weather in Colorado over dinner like that was the news, and he said he'd like to see the photo.

ক্রিকেটে আজ ব্যাটে বল ঠিকমতো লাগছিল, তাই দোকানে যাওয়ার সময় হয়ে গেছে জেনেও আরেক ওভার দাঁড়ালাম। দৌড়ে রান নিতে নিতে বুক ধকধক করছিল, কিন্তু সেটা পড়ার আগে পেট কেমন করার মতো নয়, বেশ ভালো লাগার ধকধক। শেষে আউট হয়ে বললাম রোদে চোখে পড়েনি, সবাই যথারীতি বিশ্বাস করল না। সাইকেল চালিয়ে দোকানে এসে পানি খেলাম অনেকটা, হাতের তালুতে ব্যাটের চাপ তখনও বোঝা যাচ্ছিল। বাবা বললেন দেরি, আমি হাঁপাতে হাঁপাতে মাথা নাড়লাম। কাপ ধোয়ার ঠান্ডা পানিতে হাত ডুবিয়ে ভালো লাগল। পরে বই খুলে অবশ্য সেই শরীরেরই ঘুম পেল, খেলার সময় তার কোনও অভিযোগ ছিল না।

跳舞的时候前面那人总往后退我就得跟着挪，一首下来没记住几个动作光顾着躲他。倒是真出汗了，后背衣服贴着凉嗖嗖的，腿没有在后厨站着那么胀。回家爬四楼到了三楼停了一下，楼上有人下来我赶紧说等老头子呢，其实他还在楼下下棋哪。进屋坐着把鞋脱了脚趾头才松快。这双鞋买的时候说宽敞，穿一天还是挤。孙女说奶你不能光看打折，我说不看打折看啥，最后还是让她帮我把鞋带全松开了，原来勒的是这儿。

A neighbor stopped on my porch and remembered that I'd said my cat wasn't eating much. She asked how he was before she asked anything else, and I got ridiculously close to crying over a cat who was currently trying to steal something off her plate. I made a joke because I didn't want to turn her visit into a whole thing. Since the separation I've told people I'm doing great, mostly because I am relieved and mostly because that ends the questions. Having somebody remember one small worry felt different. I kept offering her more food so she'd sit a little longer, which probably wasn't as subtle as I thought.
