وقفت في الحوش بعد الفجر أسقي النباتات، وكان الهواء مناسباً للمشي قبل أن تبدأ الحرارة. أول خطواتي كان باطن القدم اليمنى مشدوداً، فمشيت ببطء ولم أكمل اللفة الطويلة التي وضعتها في رأسي وأنا داخل البيت. بعد قليل صار المشي أريح، ووجدت أن كتفي مرتفعان كأنني ما زلت أتكلم بالهاتف في المستودع. أنزلتهما ومددت رقبتي بهدوء، ثم جلست مع الماء البارد. البلل على أصابعي بقي بارداً حتى بعدما بدأت أشعر بالدفء على وجهي. كان يمكن أن أدخل وأفتح الرسائل، لكن جسمي كان مرتاحاً في الكرسي ولم أرغب في التحرك فوراً. هذه الدقائق أحسست بها فعلاً، ليست وقتاً فارغاً بين مهمتين.

played five a side with the lads and spent the first ten minutes feeling unbelievably fit, then someone actually made me run back and that illusion was done. gym fitness and chasing a bloke half your size are not the same thing apparently. ankle held up with the strap on, calves were burning by the end and my face stayed hot all the way home. best bit was sitting on the floor afterwards with a cold drink, not having to stand straight or look presentable for anyone. flatmate tried to show me a video and i could barely hold the phone steady, arms were tired as well somehow. slept like an absolute brick, which beats checking work messages in bed.

Honestly I was kind of jealous when my friend got the band part I wanted. Not the solo, just a bit where you can actually hear the clarinets. I said good job and meant it, but I didn't want to hear her play it again right then. After school she sent me a picture of a truly terrible-looking calf made out of clay in art class and I laughed so hard Mom asked what was happening. I forgot to stay jealous. I still wish I'd got the part, though. Both things can happen in the same afternoon apparently. We're going to practise together, and she promised not to play that section twenty times unless I get to complain about it.

One of last season's workers sent a picture from home and asked whether there'd be a place for him when he came back. Good worker, no trouble, knows what needs doing without being chased. I was pleased he asked for us and told Sharon about it over dinner. She said I sounded as if an old mate was visiting. Suppose that isn't far off, though I spent half his last week here reminding him not to leave things in the access track. The place is quieter when the seasonal crew goes. I complain enough about the noise when they're here, but I like knowing who's making it. Sent him a proper answer after dinner, then looked at the photo again.

Поясницу потянуло, поменял руку, стало удобнее. Дома снял обувь и заметил, что ноги разогрелись лучше, чем после обычной дороги от автобуса. Никакого спорта вроде не было, просто ходили туда и обратно вдоль двора, пока ему не надоело.

Mon fiancé a appelé plus tard que prévu et j'étais fâchée avant même d'entendre sa voix. Il avait eu une longue journée à Nouakchott, rien de mystérieux, mais moi j'avais passé l'heure à regarder le téléphone en faisant semblant de ranger mes affaires. Quand il a commencé à raconter, j'ai eu envie de rire avec lui et de lui faire sentir que j'avais attendu. Les deux à la fois, c'est fatigant. Je lui ai dit que ça m'avait contrariée, puis on a parlé normalement. Après, il me manquait encore plus. Dafa metti, ces appels qui font du bien et rappellent juste après qu'on ne peut pas s'asseoir à côté de la personne pour finir la conversation.

No era un dolor nuevo, era esa rigidez que me acorta el paso y luego me hace cargar más sobre la otra pierna. Mi hijo quería acercarme en coche y le había dicho que no hacía falta, pues a mitad de camino me he acordado del coche con bastante cariño. Ya en casa, después de sentarme un rato, he podido levantarme bien y Amparo dice que entonces saldré otra vez para demostrar algo. No tengo que demostrar nada, pero me fastidia que el paseo dependa de cómo amanezca una cadera.

une des vieilles du hameau est revenue au camion avec une tarte emballee dans un torchon. pour m'avoir attendu la semaine derniere qu'elle etait en retard. je lui ai dit fallait pas mais j'ai quand meme regarde ce que c'etait. aux pommes. ca m'a fait plaisir putain. on vend on rend la monnaie on repart et puis des fois quelqu'un vous ramene ca. j'en ai donne un bout au pere en rentrant il a demande si c'etait la meme qui faisait les tartes quand c'etait lui la tournee. surement oui. il a raconte un truc sur son mari que je connaissais pas. pour une fois on a fini le cafe sans parler du frigo du camion.

Dans la montée de dimanche, j'ai regardé ma fréquence cardiaque bien plus souvent que le paysage. Les jambes travaillaient normalement, le souffle aussi, mais un chiffre un peu plus élevé qu'à mon souvenir a suffi pour me faire ralentir. Mon ami m'a demandé si j'avais mal quelque part. Non, justement, je cherchais une sensation pour expliquer un nombre. Après quelques minutes plus tranquilles, j'ai retrouvé un rythme confortable et cessé de vérifier à chaque virage. Ce soir les cuisses sont lourdes en montant l'escalier, une fatigue que je connais et qui ne m'inquiète pas. J'aimerais faire aussi facilement la différence entre un effort réel et l'attention excessive que je porte à tout le reste.

I've been looking again at the grazing figures my son left on the kitchen table. I know which fields carry well in a poor year, but he wants us to write down what we actually put in and take out instead of arguing from memory. My first thought was that it would make more work. Looking at one field on its own, I couldn't remember whether the extra feed had gone there or to the next lot of ewes. So the memory isn't quite the record I claim. I'll keep a note this time. It doesn't settle the whole scheme, and I still want to see the ground before I agree to anything on a screen.
