List ran late and I drank coffee instead of eating at the usual time. Stomach felt sour by the train home. Should have eaten the sandwich in bag, it was there all day. Jaw tight too. I noticed because I was chewing nothing and teeth still pressed together. At home changed clothes and ate something plain. Sat with feet up, no phone for a bit. Head still sore but not as bad. Son asked if I was sick. Said just a long day. He put the television quieter without asking again. That helped. Went to bed early but took a while to stop moving my shoulders up.

Mi hermano ha traído a unos amigos a casa y les ha enseñado el banco que arreglé para el corral como si lo hubiera comprado hecho. Me ha dado gusto oírle decir que lo hice yo, sin la broma de siempre sobre lo que tardé. Luego uno se ha sentado encima con las zapatillas y me he cabreado bastante para ser un banco que va a estar fuera. Mi hermano se ha empezado a reír y ya se ha jodido el momento. Tampoco le he dicho nada serio. A veces me hace ilusión que presuma un poco de mí, pero como lo sepa va a estar dándome la lata hasta Navidad, así que esto se queda aquí.

Took the lower track home after checking the ewes, though it adds a bit. Coming straight down the steep ground has my knees sore before I reach the gate, especially when it's wet and I'm holding myself back with every step. The dog waited at the usual turning and looked put out by the change. Once I got moving along the flatter bit I was comfortable enough. Nerys says I could take the quad more, and of course I could, but then I spend the evening stiff from sitting on that instead. I had my boots off before the kettle boiled today. The mud can dry where it is for once.

Coach made us practise leaving the ball and somehow NOT hitting is more tiring than hitting because my whole body starts going and then I have to stop it. My fingers were squeezing the bat so much he told me to loosen them, then I loosened too much and nearly dropped it. Excellent start for a school opener!!! By the end my hair was sticking inside the helmet and I had a red line on my forehead which my brother said looked funny. His entire face looks funny. I ate two helpings at dinner and still wanted something crunchy. My arms feel heavy now but I keep doing the movement with a pencil. Aaji took the pencil away.

Forty lengths before work, took a bit longer than usual because I kept losing count and doing another two to be sure. Arms felt pleasantly heavy afterwards, the sort where you know you've done something but can still get on with your day. Had my shower and the shoulders started itching before I'd even got dressed, so I finally used the cream my wife put in my bag. Should have listened earlier, she will be delighted to hear it. No trouble during the shift, just the usual stiffness getting off the high chair. Walked round on my rotation and that went. Had a good appetite by tea time, which is hardly breaking news round here.

A mãe foi ver o portão que fiz em Avintes. Eu nunca lhe tinha dito a morada certa mas ela perguntou à avó e lá foi. Mandou uma fotografia ao meu pai na Suíça. Fiquei chateado quando soube, não é nenhuma obra para andarem a mostrar a toda a gente. Depois o meu pai ligou e perguntou se tinha sido mesmo eu a fazer aquilo sozinho. Disse que sim. Falámos um bocado da fechadura, mais tempo do que costumamos falar ao telefone. Foi fixe. A mãe ainda tem a fotografia aberta no telemóvel. Não lhe pedi para apagar nem nada, também não há razão.

Estou organizando os cartazes antigos por ano, mas alguns só têm a data do filme, não a da sessão em que foram usados no nosso cinema. Um cartaz pode ter chegado numa reprise, e eu não quero anotar como certeza aquilo que só parece familiar. Comecei uma coluna separada para isso. Minha esposa sugeriu outra para o lugar onde encontramos cada um, porque depois essa informação some. A tabela já está maior do que imaginei. O difícil não é guardar tudo em ordem, é decidir qual ordem ainda vai fazer sentido para quem não trabalhou comigo. Por enquanto consigo procurar por título e por ano. O tamanho vai ficar para quando a estante estiver pronta.

Daughter asked why we put the chapel chairs in the same rows every week when there's plenty of room at the back. Said that was how people liked it, though I don't remember asking them. She wanted a circle. Explained the sound desk and the aisle and Mrs Evans needing her usual place, and she shifted three chairs in her drawing so all that still worked. She's quite good at finding the bit of your answer that isn't really an answer. Not changing the whole chapel on her say-so, but I may try moving the back row forward a little. Must ask first. If folk come in and can't find their chair we'll spend the service sorting that out.

女儿周末回来，给店里那张不卖的条案画了一张画。她说是学校要画家里的一样东西，选别的还得挪，选这个不用。我看了半天，桌腿最下面那处缺口也画上了。挺高兴，原来她看见过，不是每天从旁边过去就算了。我说这里画得像，她问别的地方不像么。不是那个意思，又不知道怎么说。后来她把画夹进书里，我想让她留在店里，开口时她已经上楼了。明天走以前再问。也不是一定要挂起来，就想留一张，跟她小时候的画放一处。
