Emotion
My fiancée visited after work and said she was pleased that we had an evening with no wedding arrangements to discuss. I was pleased too. We ate and she told me about her pupils. I did not have much to report, but I was comfortable listening. She asked whether I was tired because I had gone quiet. I said a little, but not tired of the visit. That seemed important to make clear. We went for a short walk before she left. I felt settled afterward. I sometimes give so little information that she has to ask twice to find out whether the evening was good. It was good.
Body
I ran after the day shift. The left ankle was stiff at first, so I warmed up before starting the usual route. It loosened and I did not need to stop. My calves were tight on the last stretch and my shirt was wet when I reached the flat. I drank water, washed and ate with my brother. He had already cooked. I was hungry enough to take a second helping before he had finished his first. Later I could feel the tiredness in my legs while sitting, but it was comfortable. I slept normally. The ankle was fine when I got up, which I wanted to note because I sometimes remember the stiff start and forget the rest of the run.
Mind
I was explaining a pump check to a newer member of the watch and used a diagram from memory. He asked about a connection I had not drawn. The explanation was not wrong, but the missing part made the route hard to follow for someone seeing it the first time. I redrew it with the actual equipment in front of us. It took longer and worked better. I have kept the second drawing for the next session. There is no need to add everything I know about the system. I need to show the parts he will identify and what he must report if the check differs from normal. I will ask him to explain it back during the next drill.
