Emotion
One of the younger CWA girls brought me a little cutting in a pot, from a plant I had admired at her place weeks ago. I was very pleased she had remembered, especially as I had been rather firm about the hall keys at our last meeting. She said her mother always grew it and thought I would like one too. Lovely to be given something without having arranged it myself. I thanked her, then immediately began explaining where I would put it and how much morning sun it would get. She laughed and said it was only a cutting. It is a very good one. I have put it where I can see it from the kitchen.
Mind
I am sorting the grandchildren's drawings and trying to decide what goes on the fridge next. Seven children produce a fair amount of paper, and I do not want one looking round on Sunday and finding everyone there except themselves. I started putting their names and dates in order, then found a drawing with neither, which appears to be a cow or possibly our lawnmower. Hubby voted cow. I shall ask without making a competition of it. There are more in the drawer than I remembered. The large purple one takes up half the door, but moving that would mean moving the calendar as well.
Body
A cooler morning, so I took the longer way back from the post office and was quite warm by the time I reached our street. My cardigan had to come off and then I had the nuisance of carrying it with the letters. The new knee was a little tight at first, but it was the other leg I noticed on the last slope. Nothing to make a fuss about, I simply shortened my steps. Hubby had the kettle on when I got in. I sat at the table with my shoes loosened and finished the whole cup before going out to the garden. There was no point bringing cold tea outside for the fourth morning running.
