Body
filmed my mate trying the same line for ages and thought i was getting the easy job because i wasn't the one falling off. then i stood up properly and my legs were shaking from staying crouched with the camera. had to walk a lap pretending i wanted a different angle. skating actually felt easier after that, just pushing around without trying anything, knees moving instead of locked in one position. at the restaurant later mum asked why i was lowering myself onto a chair like an old man. said training, which wasn't exactly a lie. my sister immediately asked what sport sitting down with a camera belongs to. very supportive household.
Emotion
one of the little kids at the park landed his first drop-in while i was filming and came straight over to see it, still shaking and grinning. i showed him and he asked if i could send it to his dad. no tags, no followers, just wanted his dad to see he did it. i was properly stoked for him, then a bit embarrassed remembering how i'd been sulking about my own edit getting hardly any views. doesn't mean i suddenly don't care about that, i checked again on the bus. but when the kid sent back a voice message saying his dad watched it three times, it made the whole morning feel good again. kept that message, actually.
Mind
trying to finish a skate edit and the clip i spent longest filming is making the whole thing drag. i know it is. i keep moving it earlier or adding music like that will change the fact there's too much waiting before the trick. it's annoying cutting something when i remember how hard it was getting the shot, but nobody watching gets issued my personal effort report. made a version without it and the rest finally works. haven't deleted the clip, obviously, i'm not that brave. saved it in another folder and closed the laptop before i could put it back. physics homework still sitting there, providing an alternative problem to avoid.
